The Bridge’s four live-ins have launched a public campaign to demand University support after what they call four years of program defunding by the administration. Since 1971, the Bridge has provided free, anonymous peer counseling to the Stanford student body.
The proposition would have repealed the Costa-Hawkins Rental Housing Act of 1995, which limited governments’ ability to impose rent control. Housing activists and law professors explained its impacts and shared their takes on the measure.
The suit, filed on Dec. 2, alleged that Stanford Health Care failed to provide meal periods in full and in a timely manner and cut corners on wage statements and meal premiums.
